The Grand Canal section in Gongshu District is the southernmost part of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which not only protects historical heritage but also embodies the modern urban landscape. It is the most diverse and profound area within the Hangzhou Canal in terms of carrying style. The prosperity of "merchant ships" in history and the modern waterfront style create a continuous stream of nourishment for the times in the collision of ancient and modern. The Grand Canal on both sides of the Gongshu section is about 15.2 kilometers long, and the project design scope is the public space and green belt of 15-40 meters on both sides of the canal. The design, under the overall tone of "surpassing the past and present, Jiangnan charm," aims to create a high-quality waterfront public space that combines a living historical heritage corridor with modern waterfront life through four major means: unifying the transport passage, optimizing the interface, improving quality, and highlighting the heritage.
